Drought and Peripheral Canal - Michael Fitzgerald column

Michael Fitzgerald has a nice column in today's record about the exaggerated claims of drought are being used to push the peripheral canal.

That's not the only exagerrated claim of calamity by the pro-export crowd.

I have posted about their exagerrated claims of unemployment. For example, blaming poverty and 35% unemployment in westside farm communities on reduced water exports, when these same communities have >30% unemployment when water exports are high. (Note: I'm not denying there will be pain for these communities this year from reduced water exports.)

I have also pointed out how the pro-canal academics at the PPIC are stretching the truth too.
